Long before COCOON was founded, I served in the Marine Corps and had a very successful career — first as a Machine Gunner, and then as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
I began my service in the Marine Corps in mid 1990s. Manning the machine gun turret on those big Humvee trucks you see in the movies.
I was involved in a vehicle rollover accident during a routine training exercise - which later became the inspiration for COCOON Recovery Sleeve.
I underwent dozens of surgeries and didn't have full function in my legs. I was stiff everywhere, it hurt to move and I was forced to use assistive devices just to get up and go anywhere.
