A Day In The Life of A Brazillian Runner "Bruno Prataviera"

Hello! Please introduce yourself. Who are you and what sports/fitness routine do you play? What was the earliest memory you have of yourself in sports?

Hi, my name is Bruno, I am a Brazilian and currently living in France. I am a runner. I might not be the fastest runner, but as people say, if you run, you are a runner. I started running about 2 years ago. I used to have a very sedentary life. But one day, I was at the beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I saw a race event. It really got my attention and I thought to my self, one day I will run. I started walking, then mixing running and walking and now, I am training for my first Marathon. This journey feels amazing!

How do you get ready to train for your sport/how do you train?

I try to run at least 5 days a week. I must have one rest day during the week. I wake up everyday at 5am no matter if it is weekend. I have my breakfast, wait about 45mins and then I go to my morning run. I run from 60 to 120 minutes everyday. One good thing about running is that, for me, I only need a good pair of shoes to do my training (GPS can be useful too)

After a workout/game, how do you recover your body? What do you do to get your body in shape? What type of diet do you eat?

After working out, I eat some fruits and also protein shakes. My diet is not very strict but I don't drink alcohol. I don't eat fried foods and I am not a big fan of chocolate and deserts (if I want chocolate, I prefer dark chocolate). I don't drink Soda too, but I can eat whatever I want. For example, yesterday I ate a whole 4 cheese pizza (I don't do that very often)

How do you prevent injuries when you’re training? What type of stretches do you normally do? What’s your routine looking like?

"Right shoes!" For me this is very important. When I see that the shoes are not working as it should supposed to, I change it. Also, everybody has different types of shoes that works better. For me, firm shoes are better and it keeps me away from injuries. I also respect my body. When I feel that I am having a pain that is weird, I stop because if I push myself with pain, I will get injured.

If there is someone wanting to get to your level, what type of advice would you give them?

Believe in yourself! If I can, everybody can. I never imagined that I was going to run 42K and never imagined racing an event. Nothing comes easy and it takes time, so believe and don't give up.

How do you structure your day now? What projects are you busy with?

I run in the morning, so I have the rest of the day to take care of my business and take care of myself too. It is very important to do other things. I try to sleep at 10PM everyday so I have plenty of time to do everything I want. I just need to focus and not to waste time.

How has your journey on social media been like? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I don't know if I have a social media journey. I started posting about a year and a half ago. Those are just my runs so I can keep track of my progress. Then, I started meeting new people, starting to get some followers, my posts become more informative and my account grown, but this was never my intention (but of course I like when brands contacts me).

What does the word ‘Better’ means to you?

The better me is yet to come, so better is my future!

For you, what is a “full life”?

Do what you love and do it for you! Don't mind about what other people are saying. They should not dictate of what you can't or you shouldn't do. We only have one life and we need to be happy. Nothing is impossible if you really want something, so believe in yourself. YOU CAN DO THIS!
